For the people who don't know of him he is called Guthrie Govan. He is an absolutely awesome guitar player and in my opinion one of the best in the world. He can just play any style and his tapping is jaw-dropping. Check this video out of him.

He's done 2 albums with Asia and also does these clinics all over the world. He writes for guitar techniques magazine and plays in a Jazz group called 'the fellowship'. He also demos Cornford amps at guitar shows etc. He's a pretty busy guy and he's my fave player at the moment.

I was just about to ask you if he still worked for Guitarist mag...or whichever one it was. I had a cd of him totally destroying some Satriani stuff...note for note perfect and same vibe, sound etc. He's so far beyond me, I wouldn't even register on his horizon! Bad beard tho!

His ability to improvise over chord changes is second to none. If only his ability to shave was the same then he would be perfect.

There is a message board somewhere that focuses on this guy. There're some mp3's available for download. He is pretty good by-the-way! :bannana_g

very clean tidy playing , didn't do anything for me but hes definately very very good indeed .
I like him,

I would tell him to back off the scales about 50% and the opening melodie was a little stiff..and he should not of abandoned it..it was just gone ...

Like he just wanted to get to the good stuff...

But overall :icon_thum

well it seemed just like a Jam session to me so i don't think its an obligation of his to have to make it sound like a written peice of music ... i could be wrong .

He did seem extremely articulate...hitting every note with confidence. I think it's safe to say he has a lot more in him than you see in this clip. I would like to hear more!

awesome stuff !

big thing also in that jam is timing ! it aint easy to shred or have that much control over the rhythm over a groove like that ,

some cool licks in there . .the onyl thing i wish is that he didn't use the whammy bar so much ! ... but that's just a personal thing of mine ,

freeken awesome never heard of him till now!

Joey, there is nothing that this guy doesn't know about the guitar, this is only a very small clip and does not show what he is capable of. He has been playing since he was 3 years old. I've got some other videos where he's demoing at guitar clinics and some of the stuff he does defies belief.

How can you play a solo and back off the scales 50%

And to Dannyboy, he is jamming but he has actually recorded this song. It's called 'Fives'.
