I use "endust" in the yellow can to clean it (which is 90% alcohol) and then Formby's Lemon Oil which you can get at the Home Depot for about 3 bucks.
Makes an old cruddy neck seem brand new.
The only place I would put 3-1 oil is on the moving parts of a Floyd.
