Volume 36 of the JoeRay Master Series are two very special shows. On May 4, 1997 CSN did two very special performances. The first was during the day at the Memorial Site of the 27th anniversary of the 1970 Kent State killing of 4 and injuring 9 college students by Ohio National Guardsmen while protesting the vietnam war. The first 3 songs are during this special performance and feature a beautiful rare playing of The Beatles "In My Life".

Tracks 4-12 are from their performance that evening at The Agora, they commented during the show they knew they could have played a much bigger venue but wanted to make it a special performance by playing the intimate Agora.

JoeRay gives us more information on the source of these wonderful recordings and his connection to that fateful day:

In 1997 I revisited the site of the Kent State Students Memorial Site on the Campus of Kent State University. It was the 27th anniversary of the murder of 4 students and injuring 9 others by gunfire. I was playing hockey at Kent State University Arena on the day when the Ohio National Guard killed 4 students on campus. David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash performed live at the Memorial site and later that night, played a concert at the Agora Theatre. This is a soundboard recording from the journalist that got permission to record both performances. I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks to JoeRay for this and so many other wonderful recordings, we have many more to come!
