Sorry had to pull the video, it's killing my buddies server... check out www.gravelrock.com... should be up there soon. Great HEAVY veteran band, on the cusp of being discovered!!!

This is a link to a video that I did for a close friend of mine and his band, Gravel. I'm an amateur at best, everything was done with 2 super vhs camera's and iMovie (video edit software) that came with my mac. I apologize in advance if you stop in to check this out and the link is gone. I have a buddy letting me use his site to show it, so if it takes huge hits on his bandwith limits, I'm going to have to pull it out. This is a hobby that I want to continue exploring and possibly invest more money into for equipment and software. Hoping to get some feedback and critique. It lost a lot of quality in converting it to .mpg, but the gist is there. Thanks in advance for checking it out.

These guys are an original band here on Long Island. I probably listened to this particular song about 500 times, no exageration, while putting the video together. After that many listens, I can honestly say that I must absolutely love the song, because... I can still listen to it. If you like the tune check out their website and sign the guest book, send em some props and check out their other material.

Wig I'm having probs trying to view it. Not sure if it's on my end not. :dunno: I'll keep trying.
Seems to take a while to connect at first but then kicks in... I've only tried it on high-speed connection though... Sorry if it doesn't come through.

Heard Swallow sofar.
Cool heavy tune, sounds like a tight and seasoned band.
Thanks for checking it out Rid. Where you able to load the video? Or where you just checking out the tunes from their site? Haven't heard anybody say if they could view the video yet. Seems to be hit or miss.

Active X!!! That may be the problem. The player is an active X component, so if it's disabled in internet explorer, it may not play. Sorry, I only provided the mpg, not the web page. If you trust the source (I wouldn't, a faceless character that goes by "Wig" seems pretty shady to me), you can enable it just to run the video through and then switch it back afterwards. It will take a fair amount of time to load, even still.

Thanx a ton Rythameen... Hoping to get the "right tools" in the near future, maybe you have some recommendations? Gotta pay for a wedding in less than 30 days, so can't do anything for at least another 2 months. If you know of any good software, so far I've been considering final cut? I'll be using a mac.

Thanks again for giving it a peek.

Final Cut is a great program, one of the bright spots on the Mac. I went to the dark side long ago from a long time Mac background. In my work now, I do a ton of compositing, layering and effects, so my tools are After Effects and Digital Fusion, both are incredible packages for doing effects, although Final Cut has some of the capabilities of After Effects built into it.
