I put this compilation together as a memorial to the Greatest Singer/Songwriter/Producer of All-Time, Mr. Ronald James Padavona. I am posting it on this,
the 5th Anniversary of his departure from the mortal world, for all the Dio fans here on Guitars 101. It contains tributes and dedications from members of the music community, who, like
the rest of Dio's millions of fans, greatly mourned his passing. Though bands are still paying tribute to him to this day, I have only included tracks from the days, weeks, and months
after his death. It contains a good cross section of musical styles/genres. Some of the tracks cut in or out, but I did my best to include the most complete versions that I could find. Quality
also varies, depending upon the source. Some of the tracks aren't that great quality wise, but I wanted to include as many as I could find. That way, you could decide which
bands/tracks you would like to keep. I used YouTube for many of the tracks, as I could not find better bootleg versions. Some clips have been edited using Audacity, especially
where two clips are merged, but also to trim some down. I do not claim to be an expert at this, but I did the best job that I could. MP3Gain was used to make volume more
consistent between the tracks in case you want to burn them to CD. This is not meant to be the "greatest compilation ever" by any stretch of the imagination.
It is just my very small attempt at honoring the memory of the larger than life man known to the world as Ronnie James Dio, may he forever Rest In Peace.
Maybe I succeeded, maybe not so much. You be the judge.
