Welcome to the second installment in our series showcasing previously uncirculated material from a devoted Elvis Costello collector who wishes to remain anonymous. Our generous benefactor has embraced the philosophy that, in the end—you can’t take it with you.

This release features a soundboard recording from a distinctive chapter in Costello’s career, when he stepped away from The Attractions to collaborate with a group of legendary American session musicians.

Captured at the Austin Opera House—a venue celebrated for its intimate atmosphere and rich musical heritage—this performance highlights Costello’s genre-blending exploration of roots, rock, and soul.

This is not a professionally mixed multi-track soundboard, but more likely a mono feed captured by someone affiliated with the crew or venue for personal enjoyment or review. Though incomplete, the 90 minutes we have serve as a compelling companion to the well-regarded JB audience recording.

We look forward to sharing more rare gems in the coming weeks/months.

Thanks to the anonymous collector and his generosity and Goody for once again ensuring Elvis sounds like Elvis.

Artwork and newspaper clippings included (appears the show was originally advertised as November 15th).
