I would have to agree 100%. An interesting thing is that most people think that Ed's old Plexi was this ultra high gain head, but the truth is it was very clean but had tons of punch and balls to it.. He dug into his strings so hard to get that cool overdriven tone that people think it was high gain. The early Van Halen demos are a great example of just how clean Eddie's Marshall was.you won't copy Edward's sound cause it's in his hands.. You could have his original amp/gear right infront of you from the first album and you still won' sound like him.. This is what alot of inexperienced players fail to realize.. The style,technique of a player is what really gives them their sound.. It's kind of like how everybody has their own voice, everybody sounds like themselves..
