What is an appropriate hourly fee for private guitar lessons? What would be the highest or lowest amount one should expect to pay?

20-30 bucks seems to be the standard for an hour.

£20 an hour or if your unemployed-which most of my students were when I last taught-£15

if you cancel with 24 hrs notice-no charge

any less notice-like a call a hour before-or worse-no call-full charge for the lesson

i did supply print outs-and a backing disc

but these days-with the amount of great stuff and lessons on youtube-who needs to pay for lessons...............

It depends on your location. I teach in NJ and current rates in my area are $40-$50 per hour. Many lesson studios charge by the half hour, so the rate would then be $20-$25 per half-hour.
