Hello All,

Here's a compilation DVD of an artist that's grabbed my attention over the last 2 or 3 years. Leslie Feist, with her band Feist, has a special talent and voice that is completely different than 99% of the music I usually like (i.e. Led Zeppelin, Journey, etc, etc). In one way, she has the voice and singing style of a female Steve Perry meets a female Robert Plant singer :) And the fact she's a beautiful looking girl sure doesn't hurt things any either!

This DVD is a compilation of various HD broadcasts (with one non HD exception) I've recorded over the last few years.

I did edit and create chapters and there is a menu. I left the regular self contained (living room) Philips DVD burner unit's menu created by the unit.

Here are the DVD details:
Format 29.97 fps (NTSC)
Audio: AC3 stereo
Chapters/Tracked/Menu: Yes
Size: 3.36 GB (zipped with WinRAR)
Extra: left in the lossless, DVD (vob) format with no compression

Program Details & Chapters (in most cases tracked where a DVD audio rip can be done without host's comments/talking, opening and/or closing program pieces, interviews, etc interfering with music tracks):

A. Beautiful Noise: Toronto 2006 (53:58)
01. program intro
02. "Secret Heart"
03. "She-Lion Woman"
04. interview
05. "Mushaboom"
06. interview
07. "When I Was A Young Girl"
08. interview
09. "Gatekeeper"
10. interview
11. "Fighting Away the Tears"
12. interview
13. "Honey, Honey"
14. "I'm Sorry"
15. "Anti-Pioneer"
16. interview
17. "Let It Die"
18. ending credits

B. Montreux Jazz Festival 2005 (13: 41)
01. "Gatekeeper"
02. "Anti-Pioneer"
03. "Mushaboom"
04. ending credits

C. Saturday Night Live 11/03/07 (7:18)
01. intro
02. "1,2,3,4"
03. "I Feel It All"
04. SNL ending

D. Conan O'Brien Show 4/30/08 (4:42)
01. "I Feel It All"

E. Later...with Jools Holland 9/2009 air date (12:33) (only non HD broadcast)
01. program opening
02. "My Moon, My Man"
03. "1,2,4,4"
04. "She-Lion Woman"
05. program ending

And finally...the links:

Part 6 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M858GMA0

Note: I mentioned Feist's "Perry/Plant" vocal styles earlier because she exhibits a lot of both singer's style (not sound). The music doesn't sound like Journey or Led Zeppelin in most cases either. But some songs sort of do :)

Anyway you look at it, I like this girl's voice and music and I hope you do too...

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I love all the vintage music too, but there's just not enough of
the great new artists like Feist posted.

Your very welcome :) I just watched this DVD again a little while ago. I'll upload a few other boot DVDs and CDs of Feist over the next month or two for anyone who may be interested. This girl's performances and voice grow on me more and more each time I listen to her. I swear, listening to some of her band's songs is like listening to Led Zeppelin III with a female singer singing like Plant :) I'd love to hear Feist do something like Zep's "Down By The Seaside"...

Here's something I meant to post when I uploaded it a few weeks ago for an ex-girlfriend to download and check out. This is a small, 377 MB wmv video download from the DVD this thread is about. This is ONLY the first segment, the program "Beautiful Noise", from Toronto 2006. It was an HD broadcast so the quality (even though not lossless) is good if anyone wants to download it to see if they'd even have an interest in Fesit's music.

Enjoy...

Thanks so much for sharing this. I was recently introduced to Feist and have become a huge fan in a very short time. There is too little video available of her work, and I appreciate very much your sharing of this. Has anyone else mentionen a problem with the 3rd file? I have had no problem downloading the others, but after several tries on different computers, and different internet connections, the download always freezes right at 73.7 MB. I'll keep trying because I really can't wait to see this footage.

It's interesting seeing that I posted this DVD originally on 11/07/09. It's interesting to me anyhow because I'm finally going to see Feist on 11/08/11 (2 years and a day later)! It'll be the first time since I slowed down and paid attention to how awesome she is.

This is just a "reminder" for anyone looking for something great that they may not have heard of before. You should check out Feist! I recommend checking out this DVD (or even the smaller 377 MB version of part of it in this thread) to see what you think.

Feist is back in action and starting her tour this October. She also has a new CD coming out the first week of October too. It’ll be her first release in four years. While I'm a rock 'n' roll lover like I originally mentioned, this girl has some of the best vocals and lyrics of any artist I've ever seen. She's become my favorite female artist of modern day female singers by far.

You might like it, you might not. But I recommend it if you like talent and great music. I'll be uploading a few bootleg DVDs of her here soon. My personal favorite is the 2005 Paris show...

feist

tnx for the dvd, man. i agree the show in paris, trabendo sessions is by far the most complete and stunning performance i`ve seen feist do. it has something to do with how the whole band works together. listen to the begees cover inside and out for example....it completely blew my mind. i have the show on my dropbox both as tracks (mp3, 320 ) and video ( avi , about 700mb ). if there is any interest in this i can post a link to my dropbox files. should be a quick download. check it out on youtube first...for example secret heart live in paris.

Give me a few days and I'll have some new links once I re-up the DVD. I'll start the upload tonight since I've already got the files on another PC...
