Have any of you guys used this? I dont have band, but I got some songs, can I use this to record my guitar playing and then add other instruments to make music? Can I also record a guitar lick, then use it as a sample to play over like, say, a techno beat? And finally, can I take any mp3 and take an instrument or part of the song and use that as a sample? Please shed some light on this Garage Band program...or are there any other programs that will let me do this such as pro tools? I jsut want to record and be able to sample things to make my own music. and is there something i need to get to record my guitar and keyboard, like a cable?

CC will be able to give you more info on this but as far as programs go garage band is freeken up there. . it may seem lame to some people as it's free with all macs etc ... but it's bloody powerful ...

yes you can record your guitar and then sample it and put it over a techno beat .. most copies of garage band that come with macs have squillions of samples you can use .. in all styles ... as far as sampling and recording and even midi goes .. you can't go wrong trust me :thumb:

CC will be able to shed more light i'm sure :)
