Gentle Giant 1975-10-28 Berkeley Community Theater Berkeley CA (T-531)

This release is sourced from a reel to reel tape recorded at 7 1/2 ips that I got in trade many years ago from a fellow taper / trader. It's an audience recording 1st generation.

disc 1

1. Cogs In Cogs
2. Excerpts From "Octopus"
The Boys In The Band / Knots / The Advent Of Panurge
3. So Sincere (including "Drum Solo")
4. Plain Truth
5. Free Hand (cut)
6. Just The Same

I removed a fews gaps and put a song back together.

I did the editing, mastering (tweaking) and analog to digital transfer for this version of this show. Please keep the text file, unaltered, together with the FLAC's.

Please don't alter the sound of this recording. If you want to do something find a better quality recording of the show and work from that. Don't just take what I have worked on and screw with it.

For Trade or Give Away only - Do not Sell - Do not encode as MP3 or any other format which degrades the quality of the recording

There is a cd release on the Glasshouse Records label called Endless Life. It contains two live shows. One of them is the 1975-10-28 Berkeley show. The release is semi legit or maybe I should say semi bootleg. I'm not sure if it was given the ok from the band. The quality of Endless Life is considered to be terrible. The following is a review of Endless Life I found on the web: This is an absolute waste of money. The quality of the recording is the worst you would never want to hear. They should have burned these tapes. If you want to hear GG live get "Playing the Fool". It's sound quality is almost studio. Gentle Giant is one of the best bands of the 70's that never got the recognition they deserved. If you don't know their music, get any of the studio releases. If you are a fan, stay clear of this one.

Again, that review was for the release called Endless Life.

The version I am releasing (T-531) is from a 1st generation reel-to-reel tape recorded at 7 1/2 ips that I got from the taper and is of considerably better quality than that inferior one.
