I've been trying to get a tone that resembles Van Halen 1's guitar distortion using Native Instruments' Guitar Rig. It seems that whatever I do, it always sounds more like fuzz then tube distortion.
I'm attaching a wav of me playing Aint' Talkin' 'Bout Love with a clean tone. Using that clip, I simply can't get anything near Eddie's sound.
Has anyone gotten good results and could maybe point me in the right direction?
