well my speed was captured at 10 months in the wav file!

thats more impressive, the vids are just demo's .

But the wav i heard malmsteen for the first time and was kicked out of my band at 4 months so my life was going nowhere fast.

Bought a recorder 4 trac, and asked god to let me sound like him!

I never heard myself on tape.

iif i did this recording now you would not 2nd guess me!

Monitors:
Mackie HR824's or 624's very good value.

Tube Preamp:
This is for mic's right? If you have the money than by all means launch into some nice tube pre's but stay away from "prosumer" Toob gear. When you start stacking a bunch of tracks with a thick sounding pre that isn't high end then you wind up with one hell of a muddy mix.

Depending on your budget and how many tracks you can do at once...

M-Audio DMP3 2 channels of very good entry level clean roughly $200.00 Get a couple of these and be happy! Get two if you want 4 channels of clean for $400.00

If you really want tube than try out Studio Projects VTb1 Tube Preamp...these single channels have recently been going for a screaming price ($130.00?) You can get clean but dial in some convincing warmth>>dirt if need be for different flavor

The customer service at SP is STELLAR and these are built by a really quality fellah named Alan Hyatt!

If you want 4 channels of pro preamp for a really good price than get the Sytek MPXii4. Good reviews and....if it's good enough for Steve Albini than it's good enough for anyone. You could also get one with the Burr Brown opamps on two channels for a bit of warmth. It's gonna cost you around $200.00 a channel for that but again...the level is well beyond!

Some nice tube preamps that are a fantastic value is Sebatron....
There was a Peavy VMP2 that is not made anymore but if you can get your hands on it than it's really good tube gear.

Some great places to talk/learn about recording is:
vsplanet.com (even ifyou don't own a Roland recorder!)
studioforums.com
recording.org

Good Luck!

Your the guy who got banned from musician war and the steve vai forums I believe.

well here is a cool story behind vai...

I have been around you guys for 3 years, some talked me into sending in some of my work to vai's lable.
I did not even know what a record deal was until I went to vai's site.

Anyway I sent in some work,no response and was booted all in the same month..I was told never to come back again...

either I suck or he don't want none...
He is not ready for new age.

After hearing the players on his lable I just asumed he would want this..

I will stay at what I do..It just reminds me I don't belong in music..

I am using the tubes on the atomic..you can here them on these clips.

Do you think going out of my pod xt into a 2 channel tube pre amp and then back into my mixer would be too much?(muddy)

Thanks for your help..
