Thanks (for pointing it out that he found it). So requesting is futile. How about having us donate some funds to buy enough server space to house the mp3s? There must be a easy solution.

I run a forum, well have run them all my life, including bulletin boards (programmed my own) before the internet... and I've never seen anything as confusing to use as this site.

Stiglar -

PODGOD found your nothing else matters request .. he posted the link ?
? Where - went looking for it and can't even find his reply. why are there SO MANY BACKING TRACK FORUMS?

Exchange? Requests? aren't we exchanging when we request? All Backing tracks? - (okay I see a reason for a seperate one for singers).

This place is a WEB if confusion.

What good is extra funds going to do? We have a lot of tracks so it's a matter of first searching and then requesting if you can't find it. If you see a paper clip in the post (from the posting list page) then it has an attachment, it's only as hard as you make it dude.

Still looking for where he put the link... been going in circles. This is like putting me in a round room and telling me the BT is in the corner. :wtf:

Yeah, I must admit to being confused as to how you run lots of these boards, but don't know how to navigate the search feature.

And even when the link is posted in one of your threads, you cannot find it.

We'll help out a lot here, but there's a limit to what we can all actually do.

And like I said before, all these comments you make about problems and improvements would surely be better placed in their own thread in Feedback where they could be easily viewed and addressed if feasible ? Otherwise it's a case of kettle calling pot black. Talking about confusing organisation then starting numerous threads and posting different things in each one where they are most likely to get missed...

Them I'm missing something for sure.
Okay - I click Search
ADVANCE.
I select "blackground tracks" the header - I make sure that is says search in child forums too. (to search in all BT forums right?)

This time I entered "the calling".
I get this.

http://www.guitars101.com/vb/search.php?searchid=11907

I see a paper clip. (next to the sticky pin) (on my forum it shows the MESSAGE in the thread that contains what I searched for. On here I get the thread - and the one with the paper clip has (looking) 80 pages.
Now - am I missing something? is there a search for the thread now? Or even a way to list all threads? So I can use the browsers FIND ON PAGE feature? Or is paging through 80 pages of a thread in hopes that the paper clip (that you pointed out means it has an attachment) really means that on one of the 80 pages... the attachment is what I'm looking for and not another one of the 50 BT's in the thread that I'm not looking for?

Paging through the thread... 1...2...3...4...
Lucky me - I only paged thruogh 20 pages before I - SURPRISE didn't find the song, I found "Train - calling all angels"
http://www.guitars101.com/vb/showthread.php?t=19883&page=68&pp=10&highlight=calling

Still looking - working from 80 to 60 - I've yet to see a single mp3 file.
(that's a lot of worthless text).
ahhh - jackpot - Judas Priest on page 59.
Jeff Beck on page 53 - That's 2!) not what I'm searching for... and 0ver 20 pages of searching, but those two are there... my son just said he's getting sick of waiting and he's about to leave so (so much for us playing together tonight).

From 80-52 - I give up.

Searching "Wherever you will go.mp3"

NO RESULTS FOR YOU! - (BT NATZI)
I get this...

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : Wherever, You, Will

Tried putting it in quotes-

Nadda.

I give up - to stressed from this - maybe tomorrow. :wutblau:

Opps - Stilgar (I got that last night) I was referring to the Calling "where ever you will go".

No wonder I couldn't find the link to it. (If I can't find the Bt's I surely can't find where to voice concerns.

I give up - I'll just grab what looks interesting when it passes by. Also - (instead of saying read the faq- which I read and has nothing to do with BT areas. Why not a sticky that says "HOW TO FIND WHAT YOU SEARCH FOR".

Just another suggestion. I know this may be adding crap to the forum, but it's constructive crap - better than 80 posts of "send me, thanks, send me, thanks, do you have, thanks, can you post, thanks."
There is so much garbage on here one can't find the stuff we're here for!

Sorry - needed to vent.

Whoa Buddy. Pretty opinionated for supposedly programming your own bulleting boards before the internet. If this were the case then you would use the 10baseT method and find what you needed rather than a sequential "IMMA ID-10-t" standard you seem to be using at the moment :thumb: Viva la France!

I already explained that the FAQ you're looking for (the one concerning BTs) is somewhere else and even posted a link and you replied. Did you forget already...

Not quite the approach I want to take GW.

rojoyinc, it's obvious that you are frustrated with the way we are setup. If you would like you can PM me and maybe I can help explain things for you, really it's mostly a matter of searching and yes, someitmes digging.

You could go into your User CP -> Edit Options -> Scroll Down to Thread Display Mode. Then set the view to Hybrid and you will see all posts.

However, after reading the rest of your post describing your search request, well, it appears you were searching through an 80 page thread entitled

Post Your Requests Here! [Please use new requests forum]
This was also a thread that had been closed, the first post in there contains the text :

EDIT: THIS THREAD IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE START A NEW THREAD FOR EACH REQUEST!

So what hope did you really harbour of finding anything in this thread ? A certain level of common sense needs to be applied, along with a spellchecker !
