Hello,

I'm after a spot of advice. I've got a 1987 Korean Fender Strat and I've developed what I think are intonation problems.
When I fret the sixth string at the second fret, for example, the note is sounding sharp. But if I barre at the second fret the pitch is right.
Do I need to adjust my intonation or could it be something else? I was wondering about the springs - they're the ones which came with the guitar and I thought maybe they needed replaced?

Thanks in advance,
Craig

Play the twelfth fret harmonic, then play the 12th fret note. If the fretted note is higher in pitch, lengthen the the saddle. If lower, shorten the saddle. The only effect the trem springs can have on intonation is if you loosen or tighten them to a point where the bridge will tilt.

My strat had the same problem. I installed an earvana retrofit nut and it fixed it (ha imagine that! A product that works as it should with no hassles!)
