I have 2 Vetta HD's at 2.03 and have an XT live in and out of here. My old rig use to be an Pod Pro with a BBE 362NR and a Mesa Boogie Simu-Class 295. I do enjoy my Vetta's, but there's something with the XT live, it sounds good and more options than the old POD, but to me I think the old Pod sounded better tonally.

The PODxt seems to constantly get updates. It has the GuitarPort functionality, USB connectivity, and loadsa tones from customtone.com. You can buy the model packs for it to get even more amp and effects for it, and everything is easy to upgrade using the Line6Monkey.

That said, POD 2.0 is easy to use, has great sounds and bags loadsa tones on custometone.com too. Okay, it isn't the latest product, doesn't have the USB connection, and doesn't offer the GuitarPort functionality, but you have to ask yourself whether you are going to use them or not.

I find the PODxt easy to use, keep up to date and obtain patches for. I still haven't got round to reading the manual, but have tweaked several settings through just figuring things out through simple use.

I like the fact that you can do everything through the software without actually having to touch the dials on the actual PODxt.

So, to summarise, both units will offer great tones and patches can be obtained from custometone.com. PODxt just has more features available (with the addition of the model packs), and has the USB functionality and GuitarPort functionality built in.

If you're gonna make use of all these extra features, then go for it. However, I would advise you play around with one first, or get both a PODxt and a POD 2.0 if you can, in case you don't like it...

I know there are many users on this site that are morwe than happy with their POD s.0's, and get great results from them too !!!

Good luck !

I'm happy with my POD 2.0 but the XT seems like it will last longer with being able to upgrade and patch it. The USB and Guitar Port functionality seem almost worth it.

I just got the floorboard with the Wah Wah pedal, it was $225. I have a few days to take it back. I was thinking of just getting the XT then sell my 2.0 on ebay. The XT is $500cdn and the floorbard is another $500 :thumbsdow

Does the XT have a little footswitch that just changes channels like the 2.0 does? Can you use the same one? Can I use my Floorboard with a XT?

Dunno mutch about the footswitch mate, but have you heard about the PODxt Live ? It is the PODxt but in a floor unit format, rather than the the bean format, so you don't have to buy a separate floorboard for it !

Ah I see now! I thought that was a controller for the "Bean" Cool!! I think I may get the XT live. Thank you.
Hi, I too use an Xt Live, although I D.I. into a mixing desk using the amp sim's.
Gotta say it's an excellent tool, very easy to use, and as the rest of the guys have already said, with the USB hook up, and the ease at which you can download upgrades, and patches, it's very versatile.
Just one small thing too watch out for, I had some issues with mine where the unit would try and 'Initalize' itself whilst you were playing, it went back to Line6 twice before they admitted defeat and gave me a new unit, (It was still under warranty.) Line6 were very good with their support, and it was only due to the intermittant nature of the fault that they didn't replace it sooner, that said I've had no issues at all with the new one!

Not a problem. I know that Scott Parnell and stingx both have an XT Live. They could tell you exactly what it is like. However, I know both are really happy with them !

I have the PodXT with the Line 6 Shortboard. The Live wasn't out when I bought mine. Buy the Live and get the floorboard built in and save 280 bucks!
