Janis Joplin - 1970-07-08 - Honolulu, Hawaii
(Soundboard FLAC)

Lineage:
LPs -> Sound Forge ->Click and Crackle Removal-> FLAC via TLH, level 6, Sectors aligned and verified, FLAC integrity checked.

Janis Joplin and the Full Tilt Boogie Band - Mega-rare restored first-edition vinyl "Get It While You Can", Honolulu International Center Arena, 1970 -07-08 RAW SOUNDBOARD FABULOUS RECORDING retracked and rejoined - Merry Christmas Dime! (Mp3 sample included)

What you have in your hot little hands is the original edition of "Get It While You Can", which was pressed on yellow vinyl a very long time ago. I have the more recent reissue which runs a poor second on quality, and does nothing for listener. You have a great sounding Janis at top form to listen to, a rowdy audience, PLUS Mr. Asshole Announcer (who hasn't a clue of how to deal with them). It's simply great.

This is a raw soundboard, you can feel the room shake if you turn it up loud enough. I had a decision to make, either to lose a little bass and kill the hum in the recording, or to let it stand. I've chosen to let it stand, I simply don't think it's intrusive enough to mess with. The tracks have been repositioned to make the modern listening experience a bit better:

Setlist (run time 60m23S)

01 - Intro/Tell Me Mama
02 - Half Moon
03 - Move Over
04 - Short Jams and Conversation
05 - Maybe
06 - Summertime
07 - Band Intros and Conversation
08 - Get It While You Can
09 - Time Keeps Moving On
10 - Asshole Announcer and Conversation
11 - Piece Of My Heart/Outro

Notes:
I have two copies of this record. I used one for sides 1/4 and the other for sides 2/3

was so psyched for this one until i listened to it. No Bass whatsoever. Mix favors the vocals and the drums way up front. Keyboards and guitar are in and out..low gen but this show sucks to listen to unless you don't care that you can't hear the band. I bet this is from a monitor mix or I guess the FOB engineer could be tripping balls and is just moving sliders around on the desk randomly. Such a shame as this was probably totally ripping but almost impossible to listen too after a couple songs due to the lack of the band in the mix. I wonder if there is a multi-track in the vault for this.
