JETHRO TULL

Cardiff, Wales, UK

* SEE SOUND QUALITY NOTICE BELOW *

-------------------------------
Man, there's got to be a better and more complete version of this out there somewhere.
Anybody...?
This one has cuts and bumps and bruises (as well as volume fluctuations and dropouts)
and may be for completists only
Please, somebody, offer an upgrade and let's bump this very imperfect recording.
I offer what I have.

The Ministry of Information lists November 25 as
Capitol Theatre in Caerdydd, UK
and a boot from it as "Wrong Again Old Son" (which looks more complete than this one)

Is Caerdydd the same as Cardiff (but in Welsh perhaps)?
I don't know.

THE SOUND QUALITY

Another GMR
That's Glorious Monophonic Recording

Aside from being mono, rest assured it is also:
incomplete, and has volume fluctuations

--------------------------------
THE LINEAGE

audience > cassette to me (unknown generation) > azimuth adjustment done on Nak BX-2 cassette playback > digitize and tracking via Audacity > FLAC via xAct > to you on DIME

------------------------------------
HEY GANG:
I offer what I have, with ALL the information known to me.
If you've got a better version, seed it.
If you have more accurate information, please add it in a comment.
If anyone would like to attempt a remastering job, go right ahead.

Let's try and keep it positive and make DIME as good an experience for all as possible.

Cheers,
thirduncle

Jethro Tull - Cardiff, Wales, UK.
November 25, 1974

The Ministry of Information lists it as
live at The Capitol Theatre in Caerdydd, UK.
That is how it is spelled in the Welsh language, I am told.

This is a ONE CHANNEL MONO recording.
No attempt was made to turn it into fake stereo.
There has not been a better and more complete version of this show out there.
If you have a better version of it - UPLOAD IT!!
This one has some "cuts and bumps and bruises" as well as a few volume fluctuations and a few dropouts - some of which I was able to repair, some which I was not.

Lineage: audience > unknown generation cassette to thirduncle >
azimuth adjustment done on Nakamichi BX-2 cassette playback >
digitized via Audacity > FLAC via xAct > to you on DIME.
I retracked it as it had way too many "talking" tracks on it, and I eliminated as many defects as possible.
I never re-EQ, or use Noise reduction. All repair work was done by hand using Soundforge.

Maury / Hopboy - Nov 2010

Note: There is supposedly a boot from this show called "Wrong Again Old Son"
I have looked for it for many years now, and have never found it!
I have included three artwork scans from "Wrong Again Old Son" for comparison.

01 Intro
02 Guitar solo (Nascent Minstrel)
03 Wind Up
04 Passion Play
05 Thick As A Brick
06 My God, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen > Bouree
07 How Much is that Doggie in the Window
08 Skating Away
09 Wondring Aloud
10 Queen and Country - fades out at the end
11 Ladies - fades in at beginning
12 Drum Solo
13 WarChild
14 SeaLion
15 Bungle in the Jungle
16 The Hare Who Lost His UBA
17 Aqualung
18 Back Door Angels ha a few seconds of tape warble
at appx 1:59 that could not be repaired (and the tune is incomplete)

Ian - things strummed and blown and sung
Martin - thing strummed and plucked
Jeffrey - thing thumped and said
John - things tinkled
Barrie - things walloped
