I know he is not EVH but i never cared to much about his music anyway.... Petrucci is an awesome guitarist!!! He never ceased to amaze me. I got my Suspended Animation cd 2 days ago and let me tell you: The guy is FUCKING AMAZING. Its was great to hear him without Dream Theater screwing his playing. There are no keyboards on the whole album. His tone is a pleasuresonic blast. This soloist facet was really intereting. For me, Suspended Animation is the best instrumental rock (guitar oriented) album in a looong time.

Check this solo from his song "CURVE". A lot from Satriani on it but also too much Petruccism.

i heard 3 solos of his album somewhere else...........exceptional playing itwas a good idea for him to make a solo album

but he's great with dream theater
