Thanks for posting. We moved to the Peoria area in the summer of 1975. In 1976, a new family moved in next door that would change my life. He was my age (we were pretty young back then) and his uncle had turned him on to Kiss. Together, we were crazy about KISS. There was no internet and no cable TV back then so it was Hit Parader, Circus, and other magazines, plus the liner notes which we could quote by heart. Peoria didn't have a venue that was large enough for KISS back then, it was either Chicago or St. Louis. (which I was lucky enough to see them play in '76 with a cousin of mine). Around 1980 or so, it was announced that they would be building the Civic Center downtown. I couldn't wait because I just knew that KISS would soon be close enough to get someone to take us to see them! Then, before it was finished, my dad's company decided to close all of their locations nationwide. We ended up moving to Texas where my dad was from. The good thing was that I was able to see KISS play sometimes twice a tour being between Dallas and Shreveport, LA. The bad thing was that my best friend and I never got to see a show as we had always planned from those early days. KISS was a legendary band with so much mystic and excitement. Somewhere, I still have my KISS Army membership card and patch. We took our son to the Farewell Tour in Austin, TX. He was 6 years old at the time which was cool because that was his first concert with all 4 original members, and that was mine so long ago! Too bad the kids today do not have the music or bands that we had that made it so great! It's great to hear a show from my old stomping grounds! Thanks for posting!
