Well, it was 34 years ago today that Led Zeppelin played in the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX. So, what better time than 3-3-09 to release video taken from the Master source for the first time? OK, it was released yesterday on a Rolling Stones forum...but it's still a first for the most part.

Here's the story. In 1975, a friend of a great friend shot 6 or 7 minutes of Zeppelin with a silent movie camera at their show in Fort Worth and he also shot about 11 minutes of The Rolling Stones during a day show at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas a few months later.

Andy, the film shooter, gave the master videos to John, my friend, in 1981 to take to a video company and transfer to VHS. The VHS was never traded and the contents have not been circulated with one small exception. The Dallas 3-3-75 video had been used in a trade back around 2001-2002. The Stones' video has never been circulated.

Since the video is silent, and no known audio recordings of either show are know to exist, John took some Zeppelin and some Stones 1975 Long Beach audio and put it to the DVD. I took the DVD and I have edited and uploaded 3 versions of it. Here are the details:

1. 560 MB, NTSC DVD format (VIDEO_TS) ready to burn to disc version of both the Stones' and Zeppelin 1975 DFW shows. Just unzip and burn to DVD!

2. Led Zeppelin 3/3/75 Tarrant County Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas video converted to a 12.24 MB Windows Media (.wmv) format (just the Zeppelin part of the video) for viewing on PC.

3. The Rolling Stones July 6, 1975 Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas video converted to a 23.45 MB Windows Media (.wmv) format (just the Stones part of the video) for viewing on PC.

This isn't going to be the greatest video you've seen by any stretch of the imagination. But it is as rare as they come and it is a collector's chance to get some super rare video not really circulated until now.

I hope those who decide to download it enjoy seeing the video. And if anyone ever comes across either show's audio, please post it!

Please don't be offended if I do not reply to this thread for a while after this posting. I won't be able to check up on things for a while so I probably won't see any posts for at least a week or more.

Thanks to John, Andy, and everyone out there who posts, trades, and makes available the great music we all are downloading...

No problem...glad you enjoyed the Zep. Here's the Stones 35 MB .wmv version. I have to remember how to take the DVD version and bring it back down to around 560 MB and I'll put it back up. For some reason it wants to zip up to almost 2 GB now. I'll try to get it up here as soon as I can. Take care...and enjoy!
