Hi all.

I'm looking to learn how to play guitar.
I have been wanting to learn for almost 2 years.
I have finally saved up a decent amount of money.

Is this a good starting set-up?

Roland Micro Cube

the amp doesn't really matter until you start playing in a band or recording in the studio. some people go without it when they start out and just play the solidbody electric like an acoustic. helps to have a quiet place and medium strings or you can't even hear it. its nice to have one guitar that can do everything but this is usually not the case. yo will probably be buying and selling guitars for the rest of your life for all sorts of reasons so don't feel bad if yor first guitar isn't exactly what you wan't. you might find out that in a few weeks what you want is diffrent. the two big decisions you have to make are the thickness of the neck and tremolo or fixed bridge. my preferance is to fixed bridge guitars cause they don't go out of tune and I do alot of bluesy bends. thin necks like fender ibanez washburn esp jackson are probably better for a begginer or someone young/short/female. I would suggest a used made in mexico fender strat cause its not too expensive and its a very popular guitar that suits alot of styles. if you wan't humbucking pickups then go with a cheap ibanez RG.
