I had one, but I didn't like it so I swapped it out for the AVT 50 half stack. I am much happier :thumb:

i strongly disagree...the mg series (for the money) is a great amplifier....chorus delay flanger built in...i owne the mg250 stereo combo and have played through the half stack and again i was impressed because of how little it costs, you get that rich marshall tone that will be complimented....if your a heavier player, you may want an amp modeler...i use the gnx1 through the marshalls emulated line out for most of the recordings on my website...you decide....my tones out of it have been complimented many times .....be weary of bad reviews with no expanation

I had Two. They broke down on my and the sound didn't impress me.

In the end I saved a lot harder and got a TSL 100, whiched I loved and now I have a JCM 800 which is a tone monster. It might be my grudge with the MG series though. lol

Gotta side with Axe here. I have a the MG250DFX and absolutely love it. Had a problem with the fan, had it fixed over the year ago but no problems since. Sure, it's not as good as a tube amp, I expected that, but it's a great deal for the price if you ask me. I would definitely recommend it. BTW, I played one of the smaller MGs (MG50 I think). Anyway, I thought that was crap. I don't know...maybe it's the smaller cab/speaker:dunno: but it didn't sound half as good as the 250DFX.

I have to agree The MG100 is a good amp. Its alot of bang for the bucks. I had a used one at the shop and it lasted a whole 2 days on the shelf. As far as having to have good pickups, thats a given. shit pickups sound like shit no matter what you play them through, that has nothing to do with the quality of the amp. Its designed to amplify the original signal. not make silk from a sow's ear. 10 minutes of jamming in a shop at normally low volumes is like driving a Porsche in a parking lot, you never really know what its gonna do.
The fx could be better but they can be dialed out. . The fx loop works great and is a true parallel signal.
At half the price of the AVT series, you cant go wrong for the money.
Try running the 1x12 combos through a 2x12 or 4x12 to get the real tone out of it. It's a whole new world. Single speaker combo's never get the sound of a 2x12 or 4x12 cab.
