Recording Comments:
This is the 1st video source of this show. The 2nd source was filmed by BadBonz69 and authored by me (JITF) and released in both blu-ray and a 3-disc DVD. The video has been sync'd to the Soundboard audio source. There are a few exceptions, as the video is longer than the soundboard source. The video starts with the "AC/DC intro tape" and "The Ecstasy of Gold", which is not included in the soundboard audio and therefore that audio comes from both my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and my Sony PCM-M10 recording. This is due to the fact that I began filming the concert earlier than I started recording with my Sony PCM-M10. The audio from the S7 Edge only lasts for a couple of minutes for the "AC/DC intro tape", which then transitions into the Sony PCM-M10 audio until "Hardwired" starts and transitions into the soundboard audio. Lastly, the soundboard source cuts out a good majority of crowd noise after "Enter Sandman" is finished and comes back in once the band is giving their final goodbyes. Due to this, the audio from the Sony PCM-M10 is used a 2nd time in order to bridge the gap that doesn't exist in the soundboard source, as well as a small segment at the end of the video where the soundboard source has already ended.

Per the usual, this was a great concert, although nothing too surprising in terms of rare songs, although hearing Robert Trujillo play Anesthesia live was absolutely amazing. One very cool thing to note, at least to me as a native Iowan, is that James Hetfield dedicated "Sad But True" to Slipknot, prior to starting the song. I unfortunately had arrived very late and completely missed seeing Volbeat and Avenged Sevenfold. Due to this, I did not get to record them like I did previously when they also opened for Metallica (August 20, 2016 in Minneapolis). I had originally planned on getting a much better spot in the GA area but ended up settling for something that I wasn't too displeased with, which was on the actual racetrack, mid-center.

Recording "Proof" Comments:
On track 04, "Atlas, Rise!" at 6:30-6:32, James Hetfield says, "Well tonight we're all Iowans, right?". There are also several other mentions throughout the recording to the city of "Newton", the state of "Iowa" and the "Native Fund", which was hosting the concert.

* Please feel free to convert/chop/edit/share however you like. I only ask that you keep the Taper's notes and other files with it for posterity and context.

*This is the Blu-Ray authored version of this recording.
