BiginV3gas Restoration (mastering not done)

SOURCE: Not fully known. I downloaded 2 non-tracked, direct vinyl (2xLP) 24-bit FLAC rips from archive.org. These apparently belonged to the collection of the Berklee School of Music. No information was given on the lineage, turntable, capture equipment, etc. Each of the 2 FLAC files contained the A&B sides for that LP, on a continuous recording run which included the disc flip.

PROCESSING: Rather than give a detailed, linear account of the audio restoration processing, I will instead describe what I did and didn't do.

What I Did: Corrected any R/L channel imbalances, fixed minor phase issues, removed hum, removed plosives as needed. removed the most audible clicks, fixed mic sibilance and harsh/distorted vocals where I could, performed spectral noise removal, tracked all songs (as well as commercials and cues), added fades to the beginning and ends of tracks, normalized to -0.5db (the source tracks were very low volume). All processing was done in 24/96, and the files were kept in 24/96.

What I Didn't Do: I did not attempt to "master" the tracks, just clean them. I did not use EQ. I did not correct speed/pitch. I did not apply any effects.

NOTES: The source LPs were apparently in rough shape, and this is confirmed by the images of the vinyl that were included in the archive. This made for challenging restoration. Some artifacts (e.g., sibilance and harsh vocals) could not be entirely removed without leaving processing artifacts; in those cases, I chose the recordings blemishes over digital processing artifacts. The result is sonically much improved. I created cover art for playback in digital devices.

I'll go ahead and repeat my response here, in case anyone else has trouble with it.

It's a continuous zip archive, so part 1 should download as a *.001 file and part 2 should download as a *.002 file. I just tried my links, and this worked for me. Make sure both files are downloaded, and then use 7-zip (or similar program) to right-click the *.001 file and select "extract here." Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Maybe I'm just snake bitten. It's the same with both. Cause all I'm getting is a Firefox shortcut. Not a zip file. I can't extract it cause it's not a zip file. The document also tells me to select which browser to open it with.
