I am currently looking for a good amp (I know, same 'ol story), to use with a
Digitech GNX3 I just got. Obviously I have all the digital effects I need, and then some....I play blues alot, but I'm into all styles really.

I know amps vary as much as guitars do as far as sound.....
I would also use it as a practice/recording amp also...
My main guitars are: Jeff Beck Strat and a Gibson ES335 Reissue and a Fernandes Revelle with a sustainer pickup that just screams....

Ant suggestions guys??? Thanks for your input!

what's your price range....???...are you looking for a small practice amp or a roadworthy and stageworthy monster stack...???

i'll assume it's the former...there are plenty of choices these days...i've got a small vox ad15vt...it's plenty loud and comes with various amp models and fx...it's about $200cndn

i had a small line6 spider II...with amp models and fx...but it had a lot of glitches and wasn't constructed very well...that too was $200cndn

there is also a marshall mg10cd for about $110cndn...that really rocks and moves a lot of air for the cost of a single fx pedal

whatever you chose...pick a brand name...you can't go far wrong...and if you do...you can always trade it in as it keeps it's value... :icon_peac

I already have a Line6AX2/212...it's full of effects already.....

Just looking for a very good quality amp with no built in effects.... just to run the GNX3 through.......30-60 watt perhaps??

OK I got to ask... are you going to run the GNX3 stright through the guitar input on the front and use it's preamp modeling, or are you going to use the amps distortion, and just use modulation effects and such from the GNX 3 in the FX loop of the amp....

if you are going to use amp modelling and such in the GNX3, I would suggest getting a POWER AMP ONLY! Don't get an amp with preamp channels and such, would be a waste of money for you... If you just get a power amp with speakers, and run the GNX3 into that, you will get what you desire.

If you plan on doing the latter, a cheaper amp would be a Marshall MG250 amp.. i believe it is 40 or 60 watts, solid state, but still sounds like a marshall. Not a tubed marshall sound, but the main tone is still there.

On the more expensive side.. you could check out a Marshall DSL 602.... 2 Celestion Speakers, 2 channels, emulated out for recording, and an effects loop... probably run about 800 or so... check musicians friend for a "normal" price on that one!
