Hi does anyone have piezo pickups? what do they do? what they sound like?

Can u put them on a guitar with a locking nut because i know they are put under the nut but can they be bought as like pickups to go where normal pickups are placed?

piezo pickups are normally mounted in the bridge. they are used to get the acoustic sound of an instrument. you can get a bridge with them mounted in it. i think one brand is called ghost. they sell them at www.stewmac.com.
as far as i know you can use them to blend the acoustic sound of your electric with the pickup sounds. ive heard them before and it sounds pretty neat. if you wire them in a certain way you can use the tone pots to control the volume of it.
