hey guys...
i have a problem with my pod.
i bought it yesterday, so i'm in the learning proccess.

i've installed all the drivers, have downloaded all the updates,
'monkey', 'guitarport'....

the problem is that i can't hear sound in the speakers
when i'm connected via usb. meaning i can't record.
i tried changing the properties in windows...nothing.

any help?

Using usb, the POD is the soundcard...plug headphones or speakers into it.

this is not the problem.
once i plug the headphones, everything is fine. but that's not what i want.
what i'm looking for is, recording direct to the PC via USB.
i know this is possible somehow...

1) install all the software updates of the Monkey
2) Go to properties (windows), soun card options and put the POD XT as the recording device.
3) Open your recording software and RECORD.

That`s all dude...:jot:

You can stay connected with the USB to record.
All you need to do beyond that is get a 1/4" stereo cable and plug it into your POD's headphone jack. Then plug the other end into a 1/4" to 1/8" reducer and plug that end into your computer's soundcard.
Now you can hear yourself and your backing tracks as you record. :icon_thum

I'm using 'cool edit pro'. i've set the podxt as the playback device, and
it still doesn't work.

and PickUpTheBones, i know this option. that's how you record?

Sure is, I've been recording that way with a PODXT & Cool Edit Pro for a couple years now. A couple months ago I switched to an xtLive and it works just as well with that device too. :bannana_g

the thing is, that i've bought the pod for its usb connection. cause i have
a poor sound card. that's why i don't want to use that way .

well, i guess i'll do the recording with headphones.

OK!!!

Then just plug your headphones and voilá.

Probably you are trying to hear on the Speakers what you are playing WHILE you are playing. I think you can`t do that via USB, BUT, you can get a similar result by connecting a cable to one of the outputs of the pod and connect it to your soundcard. Then you will be hearing yourself and will be recording via USB. get it?:icon_peac
