im no bass player but i got a bass so i can have bass in my recording's would like to know should i have a amp powering my bass or would running my bass direct to the line in be alright?

im no pro at this stuff....

but it depends.......if you have a good bassy mic i would mic ur amp but if not i would just do a direct recording from your bass

na no mics here lol just wondering if i get a cheap bass amp or something and use it to fuel my bass would it do any better

I just run a bass through a POD, V-amp etc...works fine.

i use my x vamp floor peddle and made a preset since its for guitar i turn off all the effects and put more low and bass in to it so it dont sound like a blan low tuned guitar lol

you could always try a di box. it works well enough in most studios
