After a fun weekend of eating at my friend's restaurant, drinking at another
friend's bar and hanging out with friends I was ready for the second Rolling
Stones show. Since the experience from the first night was pretty much perfect
I followed the same routine arriving early and getting on line. I met us with
old friends and new friends and passed the time to the soundcheck. This time
it was not 2 songs but 4 including multiple takes. This was followed by the
little gestapo security guard yelling again. Finally doors opened and had no
issue getting through security again. Met some cool folks to pass the time
with before the opener. I was looking forward to Lukas Nelson and Promise of
the Real opening. I have seen then with Neil Young and on their own many times
and they are always good. The surprise this night was they were joined by Holly
and Jess from Lucius who also toured with Roger Waters. On this night they did
were a worthy opener for the Stones.

The show started a few minutes eartlier opening with Jumpin Jash Flash and You
Got Me Rockin. I did notice the sound was better and since I was in basically
the same seat I couldn't say it was location. For the 4th song was the expected
surprise Harlem Shuffle (soundchecked twice) which hadn't been played since 1990.
Monkey Man was the fan choice again. I do like the song but was hoping for one of
the others. The acoustic portion was an amazing Let it Bleed with Ronnie on lap
steel guitar and Dead Flowers. Keith sanf You Got The Silver and Before They Make
Me Run and then the highlight of the show for me was Miss You Midnight Rambler and
Paint It Black. Wow, amazing was all I could say. Gimme Sheler and Satisfaction
were a fitting conclusion to 2 great shows. I bolted from the show and made the
first train out after the show. We were packed in and the amusement was a woman
in her 70's who was a long time Stones fan arguing with her daughter about leaving
after Satisfaction before the last four songs they played night one. I was in the
middle of this and I said the show ended with Satisfaction. I ended up giving her
CDs of the show to prove it ended with Satisfaction. I ended the night closing my
friend's bar to conclude an amazing trip.
