This video was shot live at club Scum, Katwijk Holland Nov. 2nd 1991. However, there is a copy of this video circulating, mistakenly authored as: Live at Club Noorderligt, Tilburg Holland. The guy (roadie?) announcing Savatage at the beginning of the video shouts “Tilburg, Holland”. This is where the confusion comes from. Between “Sammy and Tex” and “The Dungeons Are Calling” Jon mentions the actual and correct venue “Scum”.
Technical Info:
- This DVD was made during Sept. 2010
- Video was transfered from low-gen VHS to DVD format (mpeg)
To maintain the best quality possible this turned out as a 2 disc set while the raw files exceeded the maximum of 4.7gb for a single standard dvd.
Considering it's age, the overall quality of this video is very nice and might be an upgrade to copies out there. You will see Savatage at it's best. This video features all their classics performed extremely well. The band as well as the audience are really enthousiastic.
And Criss....well Criss is like a wizard. You will see him play several guitars, including "The Gargoyle", his favourite axe.
If you like this video half as much as we enjoyed making it, I'm sure you all will love it.
Each time I watch it I get goosebumps allover.

- To preserve the best quality the video has been kept in it’s original PAL 4:3 format and has not been reencoded after the transfer.
- Audio was redone/improved using Wavelab/Cubase:
