SCORPIONS AS "THE HUNTERS" 1975 - This is the rarest SCORPIONS recording you will ever own! In 1975 the SCORPIONS went into the studio under a different name "THE HUNTERS" and rerecorded to old songs by the English band "SWEET". Songs are "FOX ON THE RUN" and "ACTION" they released these recordings on a 45 rpm only . Klaus Meine sings both songs in German and Uli Roth orchestrates killer guitar solos as usual for this era.

I got this few years back and only listen to it very rarely, just to save it from scratching! Even if it´s a cd copy, with original artwork, by the way!

I feel compelled to say a few words about this recording. Growing up in the early 1980s, I loved the Scorpions. It wasn't too long before I outgrew them, but by the early 1990s, I had become a friend of the guy who eventually became the #2 guy at BMG in Switzerland. I always saw German/European rock through his eyes, and I got to meet a number of German bands. I saw Gotthard when they were playing 150-seat venues, and became friends with them. One thing that had always puzzled me was why Gotthard, the Scorpions and other European bands sang in English.

"English is the language of Rock," he told me, as if he were talking about French being the language of diplomacy or German being the language of Science. Let's forgive this track as being an original release and fearfully break the rules, for once. This one track won't kill us.

I know this works, because I just found it, downloaded it, and am listening to the files as I write this. And while I expected it to sound like it was taken from vinyl, it actually sounds much better. Cover art from the original single is included. I've also tried to attach both songs and the cover image as attachments to this post, but since I've never done that before, I won't know it worked until I submit this reply. Glad I've had the opportunity to give something back to the forum, after grabbing dozens of boots for myself.:wavey:
