I did this about a year ago. Had this backing track and know Andy Timmons from Danger Danger but never heard this track before. So I thought I'd write something round it and see if it sounded anything like his when I eventually got to hear it...it doesn't. I also faded it early as I couldn't think of anyting else to add beyond...and the best stuff IMO is in the fade-out (naturally! :wutblau: ) so turn the volume up as it fades!

I was really thinking Jeff Beck when I did the guitar. Nothing over-the-top but tone and feel over tricks. The strat has no trem so I can't just grab the thing and fill the gaps like I usually do with the Wolfie!

very tasteful and well performed. the harmonies are nice too, but the best playing is from 3:00 onwards. great track.

Thanks Porty. I like the real bluesy undistorted bit near the beginning cos I was just winging it. The rest was very contrived to say the least...I mean I worked it oout several times before I recorded it. Thanks for listening as always my friend. :thumb:

funny, I honestly thought it was best once you stopped playing within your capabilities and started going for it. just my (dodgy) opinion but I liked the work at the end. the harmonies did sound a little lizzy/moore but in a good way. I liked the intro too, but the ending sounded a little more dangerous and honest imo. It is a great track though.

Thanks again for taking the time to really 'listen'! There's a bit near the end where I really wasn't sure I wasn't gonna hit a wrong 'un but the funny thing is, the quite clean bluesy piece at about 2 mins in was really made up and there's a few bits to it that I'm still unclear about, The end bit was very much' "OK, lets play the diminished run into a minor" whereas the early parts were "Shit, where am I?"!!!

Yeah...., Andy Timmons is by far one of my top 5 guitarists. "Cry for you" is a killer song. You made a great work Chris. That was smooth and sweat as hell. I loved to hear your take on this song.:thumb:

Thanks mate. When I finally heard AT's original I thought it was beautiful but for me using this to put something original over was a lot of fun. :thumb:

The tones and articulation are very tantalizing. It feels very restrained and dignified throughout the piece. Nicely done.
Thanks ksdb...restrained I think is the key word. Some people might turn it off before it gets where its going.

Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment. :thumb:
