The Bane of Winter Sin

Verse 1
Em Am F#dim Em
On strange, silent, starlit mornings still in evening’s grasp,
Em Am C7 B(b6) Em
I wake from my haunting dreams to catch the lingering shadows on my past.

Em Am F#dim Em
And From my window pane I see, a thousand midnight reveries,
Em Am C7 B(b6) Em
They ride upon a winter’s chill and bind me to the night, they hold me still.

Verse 2
Em Am F#dim Em
I float atop a summer’ breeze to hear the sea waves sigh,
Em Am C7 B(b6) Em
I swim about the ocean reeds for until I find my Queen, let me lie.

Em Am F#dim Em
Amidst the golden meadow wreathes the Sun Queen sings her song,
Em Am C7 B(b6) Em
I dance upon the river leaves, ‘ere the morning breaks her from my arms.

Verse 3
Em Am F#dim Em
The Herald gently lifts his hand and beckons to the moon,
Em Am C7 B(b6) Em
And softly sings his solemn song, while the Sun Queen dances to his tune.

Em Am F#dim Em
I search the city for my Queen, though the night has just begun,
Em Am C7 B(b6) Em
I wander through my looking glass and feel the crimson fire of the sun.
