Hi guys...this is a Joan Osborne tune...I had asked Matt if he would do this song with me and he said yes.....He did an acoustic version of it...Did a Fantastic job as he always does...I just added my vocals..To me it has that live unplugged feel to it. ....I hope you guys enjoy it....and Matt thank you again for teaming up with me,,You rock hun!

The original is a lovely tune and song but I'm afraid this cover insults it by the vocals being completely out of tune.

People in here seem to revel in constantly praising *any* standard of music.

How can anyone improve if something is obviously sub-standard and be constantly praised for it?

Yes it's friendly and nice to pat people on the back but when something is obviously not right, to continually praise them only does them more harm than good, in the long run.

I apriciate the effort you make, 'rain' but if you only ever get false positives from people, how can you ever expect to improve?

i think you guys are entitled to you own opinions, but i honestly think thats a tad overly critical. if there are a few notes out im sure rain knows that. you have to remember none of us here are professionals. and some of us have not been recording that long and many dont know how to use software to its fullest yet. i think rain does everything in one take. that makes it a lot harder.

none of us are trying to praise anyone falsely....just trying to help each others confidence.

if you want to help people on here sound better and improve, then post something useful in the recording tutorials or post some good backing tracks. give some tips on how to improve vocals. dont hurl hurtful comments at them.

That's right, we've been down this road before. :wutblau: Yes a lot of songs are not 100% perfect here, hell probably 99% of them, mine included have things in them you could tear apart if you wanted to be that mean spirited. We are all very aware of our pitfalls and deficits. Do we think we will ever get signed by a record company..........most probably don't, I know it's true in my case. Do we care..........again most probably don't. No we are mostly a group of friends who used to be involved in music in some capacity, and are doing it again for the sheer love of it. It's very hard for a lot of us to post our stuff here, but we're all trying to get better, so yeah, we pat each other on the back to help each other keep going. And every one does seem to improve simply because they do keep trying. Sure we may bite off a little more than we can chew and try something that might be too difficult for out humble talents, hey we gave it a shot, and more than likely learned something. So instead of telling Rain her performance was an insult to the song and is just plain mean spirited. Don't you think it would have been better offer helpful advice, or maybe if you don't like it and have nothing nice or constructive to add how about just keeping your cake hole shut? And if people like Rain stop posting because of lousy comments like yours batnball, then this board, and all of us will be a lot poorer for it. Okay end of lecture, let me of this soapbox.

Now wait a second guys...I have just stumbled in here hoping to hear a tune....and I read all this...music is various flavors...some will love it and some will not...that's what it's all about...I get to enjoy, and thank those who's tunes get me inspired about music! If I don't like it, i move on...leaving those sorts of remarks makes no sence...what do you care if someone is receiving 'false positives'...just walk away dude...it's all about which flavor you like...this one...i will never get to taste..and that's a drag. :icon_peac
