PREPARING THE RECORDING
This was recorded outdoors at a festival. The conditions were quite good.
No rain and not to much wind. I had caps on the mics, but a some points
you can hear some wind blowing. Not too disturbing.
I placed the mics on my bag next to me, and although there was not much
walking during the gig, people were moving a bit, standing up and sitting down
causing some inevitible phasing. All in all this came out well.

I corrected volume levels where needed, and added some 'air' by tweaking the high
frequencies a bit. Bass was reduced to correct a booming sound.
After the correction, tracks were split at sector boundaries.
Flacs are tagged for convenient playback on compatible systems.

ABOUT THE CONCERT
The Hackett set started out quite messy. Altough no band did a soundcheck before they
went on, Hackett seemed to suffer most. There's a lot of slapback from the drums,
feedback from mics and instruments are being put better in the mix later on. Steve
even forgets the lyrics in the second verse, being distracted with guitar problems.
The advantage is that the band seems to jam through this opening number, giving the
mixer the opportunity to adjust the sound levels. Only halfway through Everyday they
seem to have worked out everything and sound is good afterwards.
A lot of old stuff is played and the audience got treated on some nice Genesis work,
including a full Firth of Fifth, Blood on the Rooftops and Fly on a windshield with
Nick Beggs playing the chapman stick in a haunting way. Towards the end of the set
they are about to start a song and something goes wrong. Steve remarks that they will
do Los Endos, 'cause you guys seems to like that stuff'. So right he was!

At some point during the show a guy that was screaming really loud decided to stand
behind me shouting his lungs out. He probable noticed me taping and wanted something
for posterity. Unluckily for you all, he succeeded. But he went away after one song,
thank God.
