Tell me this isn\'t the most amazing solo ever

This Solo is played by Guitarist called Emir Hot while he was
in a band 'Southern Storm'
and is one of the best solos I've ever heard
Just Listen To it

The song is called '1999'

Enjoy

It is very good. I like the Eastern sounding sounding stuff. Not the best i've ever heard like but it's good. The vocals are not my thing and are a bit annoying. The main solo is shred-tastic.

Yea, that was approaching a foothill, but here is one of the highest mountains in the world.

It isn't! But if playing a million notes a second is your bag, fair enough! I prefer something with feeling and emotion...something like Scott Gorham on Lizzy's Still In Love With You.........

Just because it's fast you can't say it doesn't have any feeling
I hate when people make this kind of comments
To me it has more feeling than anything Van Halen ever did
although Little Wing has more feeling than this solo
I'm not saying the song is good just the solo

Emir Hot is a mere pimple on Holdsworth's ass (as are most guitarists)!!!! Good choice! Compare the two and hear that solo #1 is banal and trite trem picking and solo #2 is genius!

Emir is a fine player but the two can't be compared IMHO.

Holdsworth has amazing technique and decent feeling
but I don't like his playing that much
He just does't have that soul of a guitar player like Blackmore,
Page, Hendrix(none of them have technique like Holdsworth) but I like them more then I'll ever like Holdsworth

I agree that you can't compare Holdsworth and Hot
Hot is 25 and plays metal and Holdsworth i 100 and plays Jazz

Yes degradacija, in the grand scheme of things you are right, that is why I really don't listen to Holdsworth much anymore. However in this particular old Holdsworth solo, the feeling and emotion is impossibly beautiful! Even the fast runs weep. Listen as the solo fades out, the strings literally moan in a way that is heart stopping. Holdsworths playing does not diminish the value of other guitarists playing at all, but damn, the things he has done raised the bar along time ago, yet know one has taken notice. -As guitarists and musicians we must try to understand what he has done.

Thanks degradacija, you have been a good sport towards me

You must be quite young to find the solo good but not the song...that would defeat the object for me. Sounded like a Malmsteen, Blackmore, Impelliterri type thing but done so much better by others players including John Petrucci who is not known for sounding like Blackmore, Malmsteen et al...he's known as a first class musician...as is Alan Holdsworth. I don't care if he's dodging coffins for the next 50 years-he's valuable. This guy sounds good. I hear 100's of good players every month. I don't hear him doing anything to find his own voice which merely makes him good IMO. So my point would be, it isn't the best guitar solo I've heard...that would take a couple of hours just to write down all the contenders.
