I rarely, if ever, purchase items from silver bootleg sellers, but when this appeared on a Japanese site back in 2003, I knew I had to break down and get it. Combat Rock remains one of my favorite albums of all-time. I know there are a few versions of Rat Patrol out there, this is a FLAC/Lossless version, SPEK verified. Cover scans included. I haven’t checked to see if the more recent official releases contain the instrumentals or not, if so, I will remove this as necessary. In any case, enjoy!

Notes (from Discogs, edited)
2CD bootleg that has been circulating among Clash fans for a long time: CD1 is the infamous Mick Jones version of the eventual album "Combat Rock", commonly referred to as "Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg." CD2 features a number of related outtakes, instrumentals, and live tracks from the Combat Rock/RPFFB era.

Almost all of these tracks feature different arrangements, alternate lyrics, extra verses, or a combination of the three, when compared with the versions eventually released--in addition to the tracks that were never released in the first place.

Some controversy exists as to whether the track known as "Walk Evil Talk" has anything at all to do with the Clash, but it is impossible to tell-- the song features no lyrics, nor does anyone have any idea who is playing on it.

-Track 1-14 is an instrumental outtake.
-Track 1-15 is the same as the version eventually released on the Combat Rock LP.
-Tracks 1-16 and 1-17 are the same as they were released.
-Track 1-18, 2-18, and 2-19 are the same as the ones on Disc 3 of the "Clash On Broadway" boxset.
-Track 2-1 recorded live at Shea Stadium, New York, in October 1982.
-Track 2-12 is the same as was released.
-Track 2-13 is mislabeled: The track is actually the same as the one eventually put on Combat Rock. The 'no flushes' refers to the infamous toilet bowl commercial that is featured in "Inoculated City." It has nothing to do with "Overpowered by Funk."
-Tracks 2-16 and 2-17 are nearly identical to their corresponding tracks on CD1.

Ack! I will double-check this tomorrow. If so, I'll re-upload the full correct file and PM you a link to the track itself. Sorry about that!

OK, yeah, I've verified that the zip file does not contain the final track. I will do some work to re-zip & upload.

I will remove the link posted above and re-post a new one after I've corrected the error.

Sorry, everyone!

Hi gang!

OK, I've corrected the missing track, but in doing so I also noticed a couple of numbering errors that I somehow missed before before I zipped up the original, so I'd recommend deleting the original zip and re-grabbing this one:

ahh, getting a 'bad gateway' thing...mad keen to hear this, any clues? thanks a million
File hosting sites, like any other site, do occasionally go down for maintenance or other unplanned issues. Just sit tight and check back in a day or two. You'd have to talk to FileFactory directly to find out why their site was showing that error.

In any case, they seem to be working again.
