I haven't been on the board in quite awhile. I've been really busy training to manage a Sonic Drive-In in the Denver area. I'll be taking over a new Sonic in Broomfield, Colorado (a Denver Suburb) mid-April. I hope all is well.

I did a "pre-Easter" special a few weeks ago at church. It's not a great recording, but I thought I'd share it with you guys. It's a song called Thief from a Christian band called Third Day. I did vocals/guitar. We also had drums, piano and bass. It's hard to hear the drums because it was recorded on a cassette thru the PA which doesn't mic the drums.

I think it's awesome just to hear a live performance, so thanks for posting it. It's a nicely written song, very poignant and timely. The vocals are very solid. The guitar's a little hard to hear in this mix, but what can you do? Is this something your band can redo at home? It would definitely be worth making a "studio" recording of it. BTW, I like the pregnant pause at the end of the song where people aren't comfortable about whether they can clap or not in church. Cool song McG!

Thanks guys!

The guitar and drums don't come thru much because this was recorded on an ultra-cheap cassette on a recorder connected directly thru the PA. The guitar is pretty low in the PA and the Drums aren't mic'd. The dynamic range was also greatly reduced because of the cassette. It is also mono on our system.

We may do this one again in two weeks. I'll try to get it with a audience feed also. That way I could mix it or take the best sound.

Can't do it at home - my studio is full of junk. I removed everything from my storage building to save money. My guitar shop & studio are full of boxes.
