Alrighty, in preparation to install a floyd rose on my Ibanez, I removed the old bridge and the old screws and springs but not that plate thingy where the springs are attached on (for lack of better vocabulary), it's that one thing that holds the screws to tighten or loosen the tension of the trem.... That plate thingy (again, for lack of better vocab)

Now, this might be a dumb-dumb question, but why is there a wire melded to it? If I cut it will I fook up the electronics or something? Better yet, should I even remove it and replace it with the new one that comes with the floyd?

Ahhhh confusion and wires don't make a good pair!

Its called a spring claw... and you need that wire thats soldered to it. its a bridge ground and helps eliminate hum

Ohh, ok then, when the new spring claw comes in with the floyd bridge I can just cut the wire from the old spring claw and solder it to the new one then, righto?

yep. or just leave the one thats there. they are usually the same.
