Hey guys

Lately, i'm very interested in recording vocal tracks (singing :icon_roll ).
I mainly record guitar tracks with PODxt.
I also have a cheap Mic.
What's the best way to do it?

You will be flogging a dead horse with a cheap Mic ! , Everything starts at the Mic and ends up on the PC , Anyway what i do to record Vocals is sing into my Mic Preamp ! , you could sing into your Pod i think ? also you could go straight into the Mic in on your sound card and If your PC is up to it you can sing directly into your recording software utilising Plug ins like compressors , and reverbs . I find it helps to keep about 30cm away from the Mic , also dont throw away your girlfriends old Stockings , get an old wire coat hanger , form it into a small circle cover the hole with the stocking and you have created a Anti sibliance filter , Also always put the Mic in a stand , and place the stand on thick carpet . I think everybody has there own technique here its all about experimentation .
