Hey, i was looking at some tabs for songs, and i noticed there are synth solo's played on guitar!
what exactly is a synth solo and why is it called what it is?
and would anybody be up for going like a little demo for me coz i listen to the music and doesn't make sense.

thanks

I think that the solo's in the songs are played on a synthesizer.
The tab is just transcribed for guitar. A solo is just a collection of notes, so if you play it on a keyboard, it can be played on giutar also. (within boundaries).

Take eg Van Halen songs: the keyboard riffs are mostly tabbed out to be played on a giutar.

A synth solo is just a solo that was played in the original song on a keyboard/synthesizer. Transcribers just transpose and sometimes simplify the music for guitar.
