X-Ray Spex - Rock Against Racism, Victoria Park, London, 30th April 1978

This is by far the worst sound quality of the known surviving X-Ray Spex bootlegs. For completists only. Don't say you weren't warned!

Original txt file follows...

X-Ray Spex
Carnival Against the Nazis
Victoria Park,
London, UK
30 April 1978

Trade CDR > EAC Secure > Flac lvl8

Audience recording: Not good, muffled.

Quoting Lora Logic from Greil Marcus' "In The Fascist Bathroom":
"X-Ray Spex only played about thirty gigs in its whole life...."
.....this show is one of them.....there's no room for grumbling.

Thanks to the taper for being there.

Enjoy!

The most memorable Rock Against Racism event was the April 1978 "Carnival against the Nazis". A huge rally of 100,000 people marched the six miles from Trafalgar Square through London's East End - the heart of National Front territory - to a Rock Against Racism concert in Victoria Park, Hackney.
X-Ray Spex, The Clash, Steel Pulse, and the Tom Robinson Band were on the bill - a diverse selection of music for a diverse multi-cultural crowd.

Yes, yes, the sound quality may be of very weak condition...but I could hear at least some of the concert which is an advantage. I would like to thank you for posting this!
