Well, I've moved along alot quicker that I thought. I'm shooting the black right now, and it should be done tomorrow.

Here's a running pictoral of the progress.

First, here's what it originally looked like - a nice tobacco burst.

I shot primer next, then a beautiful gloss ivory. I didn't want to post pics of the white primer, because it's difficult to tell it from the ivory, so...

Here's the ivory.

Can't really see it that well, becuase it's overcast outside today.

Then came drawing the circles, and the painstaking task of cutting them out...

Yeah, the small one right around the bridge pup looks a little off, but hey, I'm keeping this one myself, so I'm fine with it. The circles aren't as jagged as they appear due to the pixel rendering.

I'm shooting the black today, and should be done with it tomorrow, so I'll post some more pics of the end result tomorrow afternoon.

Nice job man. i would have had a hard time painting over the grain on that LP body. Hate covering wood like that with grain that is that gorgeous.

Well, unfortunately, the grain looks better in the pics than in real life. Lots of little marks and black spots and such. I was almost tempted to just clear over the wood, but the temptation of a bullseye was just too appealing.

And Danny, it's not knowing what I'm doing as much as it is good acting!

Can't wait to see how it turns out once the black dries for a day or so!

Thanks for the comments, folks!
