Here's my latest recording. It may be a bit bass heavy but hope you like it.

Sounds excellent IMO. You mix the way I do cuz I like the bass to be heavy. I'd never heard the song before, so I don't have much of a reference, but I have to say this is great on its own. It's very professional from guitars to mix to vocals. Maybe you can share some info on how you put it together.

ksdb, thanks for your reply. Yeah, I picked a pretty obscure song this time around.

As far as how I put everthing together. I first programmed the drums in Sonar 4 PE using DFHS and Custom and Vintage for drum sounds. Once the drum track is complete, I'll start building the basic tracks with bass, acoustic, and electric guitars (all guitar and bass sounds done with POD XT and Bass POD XT). Then I'll lay down the vocal tracks (re-recorded many times until the phrasing is to my likeing). I next fix the vocal performance (using Melodyne Uno to correct pitch). Lastly just mix and master using the Sonitus plugins within Sonar and the UAD-1 card. Mastering was done with the Percision Bundle from UAD.

Thanks for your feedback.

billandgitana, you are correct. This song was from "Don't Come Easy". I originally had this on cassette. Let me know what you think after you listen to it.

Thanks.
Sounds good enough to be the original. I put it on a CD and when it plays, if I didnt know, I wouldnt know it wasnt Tyketto.

Danny Vaughn was the vocalist. Always liked his voice. Tyketto, XYZ, and Lynch Mob (the Wicked Sensation/Lynch Mob album-era, not the late 90's techno-rap-metal crap) were three of the most underrated bands of the early 90s.

Great job and glad to know that you didnt just finger-jam the production because if you got it to sound like that without some tweaking, I would be really jealous.
