Eric Clapton: Budokan Hall 2001 (04 DEC 2001) BIV Edition
==========================================
Eric Clapton
Budokan Hall
Tokyo, Japan
04 DEC 2001
SOURCE: pro-shot satellite broadcast > 2xDVD. NTSC DVD MPEG-2 at 720x480i resolution @ 29.970 fps and an average bitrate of 7,827 kb/s. The source audio was a PCM 16/44 2.0 stream.
BACKGROUND: I had a corresponding SBD audio in lossless FLAC and considered remastering the FLAC files and syncing them to the video. Unfortunately, on frequency analysis, a sharp frequency drop-off was seen at around 15kHz suggesting that these files were not truly lossless. This was not the case with the PCM stream extracted from the video. For this reason, I decided to perform a global remaster of the included PCM stream rather than the FLAC files.
LINEUP:
Eric Clapton - guitar, vocals
Andy Fairweather Low - guitar, vocals
Nathan East - bass, vocals
David Sancious - keyboards, vocals
Greg Phillinganes - keyboards, vocals
Steve Gadd - drums
CHAPTERS:
01. Intro
02. Key To The Highway

04. Got You On My Mind
05. Tears In Heaven

07. Bell Bottom Blues
08. Change The World
09. River Of Tears
10. Goin' Down Slow
11. She's Gone
12. I Want A Little Girl

15. Five Long Years
16. Cocaine
17. Wonderful Tonight
18. Layla
19. Sunshine Of Your Love
20. Somewhere Over The Rainbow
21. Outro
VIDEO PROCESSING: The video streams from the two DVDs were extracted and appended. This joined stream then underwent BWDIF 1x de-interlacing with PAR conversion to 1:1. Proper upscale to 1080p, with noise reduction, compression artifact removal, de-blurring and grain addition. All intermediate video processing was done in lossless (FFV1, 10-bit) format. Final conversion to 10-bit H.275/MKV, with appropriate cropping. Metadata entered and chapter points edited. Poster art generated.
AUDIO PROCESSING: The full audio stream was extracted from the conjoined DVD1/DVD2 file. This underwent DC offset correction, phase correction, azimuth correction and initial gain setting before proceeding with remastering. The remastering processing chain consisted of Fabfilter Pro-Q4 > Fabfilter Pro-MB > Ozone Imager > Izotope Aurora > UAD Ampex ATR-102 Master Tape > UAD SSL G Bus Compressor > Fabilter Pro-L2.
The audio streams were re-muxed in the following order:
1.) FLAC 2.0 BIV remastered audio (default)
2.) Opus 192kbps 2.0 BIV remastered audio
3.) FLAC 2.0 original source audio
NOTES: This is a significant upgrade, both visually and aurally. This fantastic performance features two versions of Layla, acoustic and electric.
Never buy or sell!
