This is the first time Jewel plays with a backing band.
They are called the "3D's".
They were hired session musicans. I don't know who they are.
The opening act was Duncan Sheik.
On a side note, the previous month of April, Jewel had opened for Bob Dylan on 5 dates.
Jewel was on the rise and gaining momenteum.
This was the era when Jewel would swear on stage and show a more raw side of herself. The cool Jewel.
A total contrast to what she's doing these days. The 90's were good to this girl.
I lost total interest after 2000. Though I still have an ungodly amount of her tapes.
Jewel took an easier route and released theme based and country albums, along with a Christmas and Lullaby albums.
Also a poetry book and cd. ugh.... I'm not a fan of her poetry. I consider it nonsensical ramblings.
Some good rare tracks worth mentioning are the rarely played original blues song, "I Got The Blues More Than You Do Blues".
It's actually well played and funny. Followed by a song called "Nikos", which is about Jewel's half brother.
This recording is Great and has a lot of older gems. Versions that are unique and never played this way again.
If there were any live recordings of Jewel that you should have, it's this one.
I wish I knew who the taper was, this is a clone from the master.
