Today's fresh vinyl rip is courtesy of your great friend and mine FlyingM from a bootleg edition released on 'Toasted Records' simply called "Live At The Santa Monica Civic".
I had originally set out to pitch-correct the original TAKRL rip called "Aurora Backseat - No Head, No Backstage Pass" earlier this year myself. I then sent the adjusted files off to FlyingM hoping for some cleanup of the many noises I wasn't able to clean on my own which are in the original transfer from a very well-worn LP in the original rip from Mintypinto's collection from many years ago which has made the rounds ever since and is still available for streaming and downloading along with bluebomber's remaster of it on the LMA and elsewhere.
When chatting with Mintypinto himself at Dime, asking him for any further details to impart, he said he definitely wouldn't mind if a better, cleaner rip of that classic TAKRL boot were to show up sometime. Seems he'll finally get his wish!
After I sent my speed/pitch-adjusted files off to FlyingM, he recalled having an unopened, still-in-its-wrapper version of this show on another boot edition which he then cracked open and kindly ripped and transferred for us in high resolution which we then used for this new presentation. That transfer also revealed an off-speed recording, most likely from whatever original source had been used for all of the various bootleg editions that were sold years ago - y'all know how that goes...
I adjusted the pitch of the new file set, found the sound a bit needy and lacking and gave it a boost in the low end to fatten it up a bit, and sent the files back to FlyingM for some further cleanup work. He eq'd it a bit more, did a few other magical processes to bring in the side bands, further tightening up the bass, etc. and bringing a firmer overall sound to the guitars and everything else. Upon listening to it, my ears got very happy with the new state of the sound I was hearing. Yes - it's still a bit crunchy at times most likely due to the reception in the FM broadcast from which all of these boots emanated. But it's from what I now hear as being a much cleaner edition due to far less LP noise found in the TAKRL sources.
So when all was said and done, I put aside my work on the slow/flat TAKRL editions and concentrated on bringing this new edition out, with my enormous thanks to FlyingM for having this thing in his collection in the first place and for giving it the loving care to make sure it sounded as amazing as it does from start to finish. I'll make sure it also gets out to some of those other sites we also visit for our musical fixes so please allow me that further courtesy. It is currently up for free live streaming and downloading via the LMA as well in both resolutions I'll be sharing here today.
Click to play, click the icon to go to the LMA, next and back buttons also work, although it only displays 4 tracks in this player. I'm surprised it works at all, actually! These are high quality complete but lossy tracks, so visitors to this page or the LMA can listen to any or all of it. Links to the FLACs, etc. are also on each page. Also there's a torrent which could actually work, but I haven't tried it. You folks don't come to Guitars for torrenting though. The files are available as linked downloads there and in FileFacory links below. Choose which best suits your needs and bandwidth - it's sooooooooooooo goooooooood... Y'all are in for a treat!

Along with the shiny new presentation, we have a most excellent art package to accompany it, courtesy of our art department, Mr. ethiessen1. I thank him, FlyingM thanks him, and y'alls will wanna thank him too so please, don't hold back...
Many of you already own some edition or another of this show, but it ain't never sounded this good before... I guarantee!
