Tangerine Trees Volume 9
Introduction to Tangerine Tree Volume II:
This show brings us to the beginning of the second full volume of the Tangerine Tree. It will run from Volume 9 through Volume 16.
The Tangerine Tree was a worldwide fan project which had been launched in December 2001 by some members of the Tangerine Dream Mailing List. The purpose of this project was to release unofficial Tangerine Dream recordings in the best possible sound quality by using only master tapes or low generation sources of each concert recording. The source material (audience, soundboard, or broadcast recordings) came from the most authoritative TD collectors worldwide. The sound quality of each recording got enhanced by people who are considered to be real experts in remastering.

Tangerine Tree II (consisting of volumes 9 to 16) was opened with a complete double CD version of the famous London Royal Albert Hall concert of April 2nd, 1975, that had been broadcast by the BBC radio. The sound quality is nearly perfect, as it was mastered straight from the original BBC tape, plus it has the missing "finale" from the first set, taken from a first generation audience recording. This release is unique in that it features one of the very few concerts where Michael Hoenig replaces the absent Peter Baumann. Musically it works well as a live companion to the officially released studio album Rubycon (1975). This release also made the bootlegs Coefficient Of Aural Expansion and Phaedream obsolete, which consist of material from the same concert, but are incomplete and of less excellent sound quality.

Comments:
The Tangerine Leaves was a side project that focused on sources not considered for inclusion in the Trees project for a variety of reasons including many lower quality audience recordings and concerts from various tours where there was little improvisation outside of pre-rehearsed musical passages already documented by the Trees project. This remainder of the Tangerine Leaves project will be shared once the Tree project is completed.
As with all releases of the Tangerine Tree project, this release is made by fans for fans. It must not be sold but is to be traded freely.
