Just uploaded a batch of 30Gb, so far so good. Speed isn't up to par with Mega though, capped at around 800Kb/s.
I downloaded some of my own files at full speed, haven't tried external links yet.

I don't like the new interface, can't use Internet Download Manager anymore with a bunch of files.

Nevermind, all uploads failed in the end.
If only Mega was less expensive and had a search engine...
I find that Mega is worth whatever extra money you have to throw at it just for consistency. Also, you have the option of paying monthly.

I agree about the search engine. That would be a huge bonus to be able to search public Mega files.

Also, I'm still having the premium renewal problem. I keep getting a 404 page not found error message. Also, currently the whole site is down again.

I'm guessing (hoping?) they're just working out the kinks.

Another good aspect of Mega is that you do not need to zip your files. It's a huge time saver.

They also integrated the upload directly in the right click options, so it's completely seamless now, right click, upload to Mega, pick the destination folder and it's almost immediate, the speed is incredible.

The search engine would be fantastic but that would go against their motto "the privacy company":

Frankly if FF stays in this state for too long, I'm willing to cough up the 100€ for 3TB. 10TB would be ideal but 220€ is way too expensive and they don't have a program that allows you to extend the subscription like FF has.

Still, tough decision. I wish FF takes care or whatever problems they have soon so I can go back to uploading for free.

Welcome to FileFactory v2.0 Beta!
LOL

I remember when beta software wasn't pushed onto the entire user base
Select few who wanted to bug hunt or experiment with it could sign up for it

MESSAGE TO FILEFACTORY,

YOUR BETA ROLL OUT FAILED.
ROLL IT BACK.

SHAKE OUT THE BUGS WITH A USER BASE THAT ENJOYS DOING THAT KIND OF STUFF,

AND RESTORE THE CONFIDENCE OF YOUR USER BASE BY RESTORING ALL THE DEAD LINKS YOU HAVE.

I have (shockingly) received an email update.

"Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us, and for your patience.

The issue you described should now be fixed. However if you come across this problem again, please reply to this email with:

a URL of the issue
any error code or text
a screenshot if possible
any additional information you think might help

As you may be aware we recently rolled out an upgraded version of filefactory.com. Despite extensive testing, we had a number of issues, and the upgrade did not go as well as we had planned.

In particular, there were a few server issues and runaway memory exhaustion issues on the server, which causes a number of problems including:

inability to sign in or out
inability to download files
files not being displayed in the file manager

.. among other things.
These problems should now be resolved, but if you still run into any issues, please let me know!

Thanks for using FileFactory :)

Must have really been short lived, I'm still locked out.

This is the standard response from Filefactory. They're not interested to help for a stable download portal.

Greetings Penny.

I’m still waiting for them to fix the page access. If you do a search on something with 100 pages worth of titles, you can no longer access a specific page. You have to scroll through the whole thing.

Yup! Some searches don't work and uploads still don't work. I have files piling up on my laptop because I can't upload them.

FF used to be so simple to work with. Easy to grab bunches of links and plug into JDownloader. Set it and forget it kinda stuff. But now....
I have to actually visit the FF site.
Click on each link to download individually.
Grab links one at a time to download through my browser.
Click - download starts - Click - download starts
Get maybe ten or twenty of those accumulated links slamming.
Only then can I grab bunches of links from my browser's download queue for JDownloader to recognize and add to ITs queue.
Then clear out my browser queue.
Rinse & repeat.
When faced with 50, a hundred, or more really cool files in one folder this is a daunting task.

As folks embrace the latest trend of uploading their entire catalogs for bands, this becomes quite tedious. Carpal-tunnel, here I come.

Still I'm thankful that sharing is caring. I would never discourage anyone from putting what they have up there. Not even to FF.
It's workable. But it really really sucks right about now.

Mega will not implement a search feature as that would mean they could see what you are uploading. They advertise that everything is completely encrypted, this keeps Kim Dotcom out of the kind of hot water he was in back when it was known as Megaupload, so search feature will never happen.
